Font - r/TrueOffMyChest Posted by u/bleepblop77777 10 hours ago I've been lying to my wife I've been married to my wife for 8 years, together for 12. We have a 4 year old daughter. I love them both as much as a human is capable of loving, more than I ever thought I'd love anyone. I genuinely couldn't live without them. However I've been keeping a massive secret from them both and it's starting to weigh on my conscience.

Font - Every few months, maybe 2-4 times a year, I rent a hotel room. I tell my wife I'm going on a business trip, or visiting my sister, or whatever believable excuse I can think of that would get me out of the house for a night or two. And I eat.

Font - You see, my daughter has a peanut allergy. Which means we've become a strict no peanut household. So I get a room, and I gorge on everything I can't have at home. Peanut butter, cookies, reeses, Cap'n crunch, nutty buddies, puppy chow, you name it. I put on a movie, smoke a bit of and eat myself into a coma. Then the next day I brush my teeth several times, put the clothes I was wearing in a bag, take a super hot shower and put on fresh clothes that I kept sealed in a plastic bag. And I g

Font - And my sweet, beautiful family doesn't suspect a thing. My wife always greets me so warmly, asks how my trip was, and kisses me on the same lips I used to lie and betray them. And I tell myself I'm not gonna do it again, until a few months have passed and I'm sweating at the thought of a snickers bar.

Font - Jambomo 8 hr. ago I would tell your wife, because one day she'll find the hotel room receipts/charges and think you are having an affair, and this is so weird she won't believe the truth. 42.4k Reply Share

Font - Piffli 6 hr. ago Yeah seriously. Suddenly finding that your husband have been lying for years and been away in hotels for days instead of business trip/family visits... Well, not sure who would buy the peanut story tbh, even if it is the truth. 545 Reply

Font - Pass_The_POpcorn. 8 hr. ago Your wife is going to be so confused when she eventually gets suspicious & knocks on that hotel room door. She'll except some home wrecking bimbo to be hiding in the bathroom & instead she's going to husband in find a a food coma. 744 Reply Share

Font - Inevitable-Okra-3229. 7 hr. ago Man she's going to find out and come here and be like "my husband has been getting hotels, I confronted him and he said it was to eat peanuts". I can not fathom anyone actually believing that so I suggest you tell her or invite her next time and get someone to look after the kids 130 Reply Share

Font - Intelligent-Fennel56 10 hr. ago . Ngl dude I was expecting this story to be worse. Maybe you should tell your wife that you do this every now and then? I mean would it be that bad? It seems like your doing everything to protect your daughter from her allergy. I don't think it's wrong to want things that you might not get to have at home with a family members allergy, but if your not careful your wife might think your cheating. That is worst case sensations but ngl that's exactly what I th

Font - SnooWords4839. 9 hr. ago Does your wife need a break too? 85 Reply Share bleepblop77777 OP. 8 hr. ago I'm not doing this because I need a break, I assure you I take care of the house and our kid equally. she gets her breaks, trips away, me time, time out with friends honestly more than I do since she's the social butterfly and I prefer to stay at home. I'm doing this because I need peanuts, not a break from my family 212 Reply Share

Font - Disastrous-Panda5530. 10 hr. ago My son has a peanut allergy also and we don't keep them in the house either. But if we want to eat it we just do so outside the home. Why not just tell your wife lol?

Font - bleepblop77777 OP. 8 hr. ago I guess I just felt so guilty after the first time I did it that I avoided telling her, and now I feel like I'm in too deep. I do wish I would've just come clean because I don't think she would've been that mad but now I'm not so sure

Font - MediocreFun4470.4 hr. ago Tell it to your wife, how will you explain those hotel receipts? An affair is more believable than saying you're having an affair with a jar of peanut butter?
